Changing or cancelling your subscription
Where to go depends on who takes the money — Apple or Stripe. Dayspring sends you to the right place.
Settings → Billing → Manage billing. That button knows where to send you.
Which one applies to you
It depends on who took the money, not which device you’re holding.
- Subscribed on iPhone or iPad? Apple bills you, and managing it means going to your Apple subscriptions — the button opens them for you.
- Subscribed on the web or your Mac? Stripe bills you, and the button opens the Stripe billing portal.
If you subscribed on the web and you’re holding your iPhone, you’ll still be sent to Stripe. That’s correct, even though it feels odd — Apple has no record of a subscription it never sold.
Cancelling
Cancel in whichever of those two places applies. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for; nothing is cut off mid-month.
Your entries aren’t deleted when a subscription ends. And you can download a complete backup at any point, including after it lapses.
Restore purchases
On iPhone and iPad there’s a Restore purchases button. Use it after reinstalling, or on a new device, if Dayspring doesn’t recognise that you’ve already paid.
It tells you in plain words what it found, rather than silently doing nothing.
Switching monthly to yearly
Change the plan in the same place you manage billing — Apple’s subscription settings, or the Stripe portal.
If you’ve just paid and nothing happened
Give it a few seconds. If it takes longer, Dayspring shows you a screen saying your payment went through and it’s still waiting to hear back — with a Check again button. It won’t leave you looking at a spinner wondering whether you’ve been charged.
If it’s still stuck after that, tell us and include the email address you paid with.
One subscription, one account
An Apple subscription can only entitle one Dayspring account. If you’ve ended up with two accounts, the subscription stays with the one that bought it — get in touch and we’ll sort it out.
