Photos in entries
Drag one in, paste it, or use /image. Up to 20 MB each, with captions and reordering.
Three ways to get a photo onto a page:
- Drag it from Finder or your desktop straight into the entry.
- Paste it — copy an image anywhere and press ⌘V.
- Type
/imageand pick a file.
Each image can be up to 20 MB. Larger ones are compressed on your device before they’re uploaded, so a photo straight off a modern phone is fine.
Once it’s on the page
Click a photo and a menu opens: change its size, add a caption or alt text, or remove it.
Photos are objects rather than text, so a click opens that menu rather than putting a cursor into it. Drag one to move it somewhere else in the entry — a line shows where it’ll land.
Offline
Add photos on a plane if you like. They’re held on your device and uploaded when you’re back online, retrying by themselves. The entry is readable the whole time.

Photos are in your backup
When you download a backup, the image files come with it — not links to images, the actual files. Your journal doesn’t become a set of broken picture icons if you ever stop using Dayspring.
