Typing searches

As you type, Dayspring searches everything you’ve written and shows matches straight away. This happens on your device — no waiting, no network, works offline.

Use it when you know roughly what you’re looking for: a name, a place, a phrase you remember writing.

Return asks

Press Return on a question and something different happens. Instead of matching words, Dayspring goes looking for what you meant.

When did I last write about my father?

What have I been praying about this year?

Where does discouragement keep showing up?

You get back counts, the span of time it covers, a month-by-month shape — and the actual sentences you wrote, quoted as you wrote them.

Nothing is invented

This matters enough to state plainly: Dayspring does not write you a summary of your spiritual life. It finds your own words and shows them to you.

If it can’t point at something you actually wrote, it says nothing rather than filling the gap.

Switching between the two

The box guesses which one you want from how you phrase it. If it guesses wrong, press Tab — or use the small verb button — to switch.
