Your pages, side by side
Every entry you've written as a wall you can stand back from, zoom into, filter, and read.
Press ⌘1.
This is every entry you’ve written, laid out as pages rather than as a list of dates. Stand back and you see years at once; come close and you’re reading.
Zooming
Pinch, or hold ⌘ and scroll, or use ⌘= and ⌘−. There’s a slider too.
It’s continuous rather than three fixed sizes, so you can sit wherever the view becomes useful to you. Far out, the shape of your writing life is visible — the dense months, the silences. Close in, the near end reads like an open book.
The Spread
Press Return on a page to open it two-up, like a book, with room in the margin.
Filtering
Chips along the top narrow the wall, and they combine. Show only entries you’ve marked. Only ones with scripture in them. Only prayers. Only pages you highlighted.
Chips you have nothing for don’t appear, so you’re never offered an empty filter.
There’s also a filter box that takes plain English — “entries about my mother from last spring”. It sets the filters for you; it does not decide what matches. The distinction matters: it can set up the search for you, but the results are always your own entries meeting the criteria you asked for.
Weather
A panel of the plain facts: how many pages, the first, the most recent, your longest silence, and a grid of the months.
The longest silence is often the interesting one.
Anniversaries
As you scroll, pages from this date in earlier years are folded in — not as a notification, just there in the flow, where you’d come across them the way you’d come across an old letter in a drawer.
Keyboard
Arrow keys move between pages. Shift with arrows extends a selection, ⌘A selects everything, Return reads, Esc clears.
With pages selected you can copy them, export them as Markdown, or delete them in one go.
